FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sento Corporation Appoints Chris Wells Senior Vice President of Sales
Wells to direct sales of software and consulting of Sento's Customer Choice PlatformSM customer support and web self-services
AMERICAN FORK, Utah - April 28, 2003 - Sento Corporation (Nasdaq: SNTO) a leading provider of integrated, multi-channel customer support, today announced the appointment of Chris Wells to the position of Senior Vice President of Sales. In this role, Wells assumes responsibility for the sale of software and web self-service products that Sento provides to medium-to-large organizations worldwide.
Wells brings more than 13 years experience in sales, marketing and technology consulting to Sento. Prior to joining Sento, Wells consulted as General Manager for a $29 million technology upgrade project for the State of Utah. Wells served for three years as the Vice President and General Manager for Excite@Home Hosting Services, where his responsibilities involved the sale of outsourced hosting and e-commerce services to major Fortune 500 accounts. Wells was responsible for increasing the hosting services business for Excite@Home from zero to $7 million in sales in a period of just 18 months.
Prior to holding this position, Wells was Vice President of Major Accounts for an Internet start-up firm that was acquired by Excite@Home for $500 million. In addition, he served as Director of Major Account Sales for three years for Novell.
"Sento is especially pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Wells to this critical and strategic position," said Pat O'Neal, president and CEO of Sento Corp. "Sento has made shown significant progress in its profitability and financial position in the financial quarter just completed. Moving forward, the sale activities that are now being directed by Chris Wells are crucial to continuing Sento's current path of progress and growth."
"In the past year, Sento has achieved tremendous proof of concept within our current set of major accounts. With these results, we are now serving a growing list of new customers, thanks to the sales activities Chris Wells now directs."
Sento's software solutions are key components of a strategy the company refers to as "Customer Choice PlatformSM". As companies are increasingly challenged with the need to protect customer satisfaction while cutting soaring customer support costs, Sento has found an answer: The creation of custom solutions that blend outsourced live support with proprietary best-in-class software solutions. Sento solutions let customers make their own informed choices from a range of web-enabled self-service options, with live support available as an alternative at every critical point.
In customer installations, Sento has proven repeatedly that given a viable choice, the majority of customers will choose support options other than live phone. And by incorporating self-service options, companies can generally expect to reduce their support costs by a minimum of 40 percent, and can often deliver exemplary support for a fraction of their traditional costs.
